Day 102 - Night in the Studio
It’s always nice to walk into a real studio. I have my own recording set up and I get a lot out of it, but there are certain occasions that I like going into a “real-deal” studio. Tonight my bassist laid down the upright bass for my upcoming single. The song is called “Everybody Comes Around Here”. It’s about finding the place where you truly feel like you belong and cutting the strings that hold you back from that place. Mike Basmagy and Joanna Burns co-wrote this song with me…and I have to say…we did a stellar job. Haha!
I mean…look how cool he looks! And trust me, it sounds just as cool as it looks. Hehe.

This marks the beginning of a countdown of my last 10 Video Shmideos for the year. That will put us at a total of 52, friends. It’s been a wild ride! But JB needs a little break. I’ll be posting re-runs for a few months, but then I will be back with fresh material. I’m just stepping away to make a little stockpile. Filming every single week for a solid year proved to be both valuable and inefficient.
Thank you so much for watching as long as you have been. This has been easily one of the longest, most sincere musical commitments of my life, aside from recording an album. Truly an amazing year!
Day 85 - Stick Figure Sarah Tomek
Today I missed out on a photo opp that I’m kicking myself for now…so naturally this is where my stick figure drawings come into play. Sarah is a drummer. A lot of people have a misconception that chicks can’t play drums. Sarah is the gal to blow those stereotypes out yo butt! I’ve known Sarah for a long time now and I’ve seen her play in a ton of bands and just kept asking myself “This girl is such an unreal drummer…why isn’t this girl touring the world by now????” Well, I finally don’t have to ask this question anymore. She is relocating to Nashville to drum for an up and coming country artist. Tonight was her going away party and this picture should have been of her and I. Dangit! Haha! If you are in the drumming world you are going to hear a lot of Sarah very soon if you haven’t heard of her already.
Kill it Sarah Tomek!!! We’re all cheering you on!
